Before you come
Where to park, what the walk-through is actually like underfoot, and how to be a good neighbor while you're here. Five minutes of reading saves you a lap around the block.

Getting here
The neighborhood has a few hundred parking spaces within a short walk of the house, so even on a busy Saturday you are rarely more than a minute or two away on foot.
School Lane is fine to park on. Please do not park along S. Camp Meade Road — it is the main road through, and cars on it make the night harder for everyone, us and the fire trucks included.
A crossing guard is on duty every single show night. Cross where they tell you to, especially with kids in tow, and give them a wave — they are out there in the cold for you.
Don't park on S. Camp Meade Rd. School Lane and the surrounding streets are your friends. Anything that narrows the main road is a problem on a busy night.
There's a crossing guard every night. Please use them rather than crossing mid-block — it gets busy and drivers are looking at the lights, not at you.
Arrive a little early on Santa nights. Those fill the fastest. See the schedule for which nights he's here.
How the night runs
The show loops every 15 minutes, so there is no wrong time to arrive — you have never "missed it."
Want it quieter? Most of the evening runs busy, and it thins out noticeably in the last half hour — come around 8:30 if crowds aren't your thing. Nights when Santa or the Grinch are here are the busiest of the season.
Getting around
The walk-through has no steps anywhere in it. Paths are a mix of pavement, grass and gravel, so it's flat but not uniformly smooth.
The full route is accessible — no steps, no stairs, no dead ends. Expect some grass and gravel between the paved stretches.
Stroller friendly the whole way round. A bigger wheel handles the gravel better than a narrow umbrella stroller.
There are places to sit dotted through the walk-through, but not many. If standing for half an hour is hard, a folding chair is a good idea.
While you're here
There are none on site — it's a family's front yard. Please plan ahead before you set off.
If you're caught out with a small child, find a volunteer and we'll sort something out.
Run by local charities and community groups, so what's on offer changes from night to night.
Whatever they take goes to their cause, not ours.
Most vendors take cards, but it varies night to night — bringing a little cash is the safe move.
Welcome, on a leash. Bear in mind it gets crowded and loud, which not every dog enjoys.

If the weather turns
Rain, high winds or extreme cold will cancel the show. There's a lot of electronics and fabric out there, and none of it enjoys any of the three.
Light snow doesn't cancel anything. Honestly, it's the best night to come.
Cancellations go up on Facebook first, and the banner at the top of this site updates at the same time — check either one before you drive over.
Cancels: rain, high winds, extreme cold.
